Entrepreneurship and enterprise are high on the agenda at Nottingham Trent University. At ‘The Hive’, their purpose-built centre, they support and nurture students who want to set up their own businesses.
We teamed up with The Hive and the University’s marketing team to promote an Enterprise Expo and increase awareness of the funding, advice and workshops they offered in association with Santander.
The main challenge was that there were three very different target markets – those students who already had a business idea and wanted help to develop it; those who wanted to start a business but didn’t have a specific idea; and those who were just interested in finding out more.
As a key aim was to be more inclusive and widen participation, we created the ‘SPARK’ campaign to reflect the moment students have a business idea. A series of striking headlines with plenty of attitude and imagery based around the SPARK theme promoted the Expo, raised the profile of the funding and let students know they could do it – if they put their mind to it.
We also developed posters, hanging banners, leaflets, postcards, web assets and a social media campaign for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to drive students to the event and inspire future entrepreneurs by telling graduate success stories.
