We work on a diverse range of multi-channel student recruitment campaigns all the way from inspiration, strategy and concept development through to the delivery of final assets for different media. Here are just a few of the projects we’re proud to have worked on.
We were asked to quickly create a suite of short, fast-paced videos to promote life at Manchester Met, their Open Days and Clearing opportunities. As there wasn’t time for video shoots, we re-purposed existing imagery and added some stock images, bold type and great music to get across key messages in an impactful way.
At the heart of the campaign was a 45-second hero video with plenty of attitude that covered courses, music, passion and the unique spirit of the city and University. We also created a series of shorter 15-second videos that focused on the student experience, Manchester and different course clusters.
To make sure the campaign really hit home, we rolled it out across online banners, 6-sheet posters, mobile adverts, organic and PPC social media posts, Snap Ads and shorter video edits. We’re really proud of this creative, vibrant and cost-effective campaign. You don’t always need a camera crew to create great new video content!
We were challenged with creating a social media campaign that would make a big impact at Clearing. So, we created the ‘Time to shine’ rallying cry and brought it to life across different media. This included a number of fast-paced videos that repurposed existing imagery and made the most of a specially composed, high-energy music track with bespoke lyrics to engage, connect and inspire potential students to apply.
We produced a 45-second hero video that gave potential students a whistle-stop tour of the many reasons to join the University, and shorter videos that focused on different elements of the learning experience – play, study, courses, placements, study abroad and the different campuses. To give some courses an extra boost, we also created 6-second subject specific videos for a targeted PPC campaign. All of this was supported by mobile phone ads, social posts, additional videos that focused on ‘10 reasons to join us’ and a quick guide to Clearing in less than 30-seconds.
Working closely with the University marketing team and students from Hong Kong, India, Vietnam, China and Argentina, we created a series of authentic 60-second videos that told individual student stories and promoted the many reasons why international students should choose Manchester Met. Blending a mix of professionally shot video footage with user-generated content, we also produced five slightly longer videos where students talked about the support available, experience for Chinese students, living & studying in Manchester and how Manchester Met prepares students for their future careers.
We worked closely with academics and the marketing team at NTU to help create over 50 course videos for their Virtual Open Day – all during lockdown. We used our expertise to organise and remotely record audio files of academics talking about their subjects. We asked the right questions, edited what they said and added some music so the University’s videographers could add our audio to their videos.
We also fully produced a series of six videos to promote Foundation degrees and the Nursing degree at their Mansfield campus. We advised on the format and what the academics would say. We recorded the audio remotely again. And created the videos using NTU imagery and stock footage, making sure the videos had plenty of energy and communicated vital information in their vibrant brand style.
How do you let international students know what it’s like to live and study in Manchester in an engaging and authentic way? We worked very closely with the international marketing team at Manchester Met University to shape their online marketing strategy and revitalise their social media content. We developed content for their online portal #ThisIsManchester and a suite of social media posts to kick start the campaign.
For phase two we then provided training, inspiration and advice to a hand-picked team of international student ambassadors. This gave them the confidence they needed to create all kinds of user-generated videos and social media posts covering sport, food, shopping, culture, study and social life.
“Through strong and fresh creative, Manchester Metropolitan University produced a stand out visual youth brand and well targeted campaign that has effectively raised the profile of the institution within the international market.”
