True Colours

2020 was the toughest year for decades for school and college leavers around the globe. So, we worked as one team with the University of Leicester to help provide their new students with the warmest of welcomes.

Brief

Provide the University’s offer holders with a bright and positive welcome experience to make sure they made the University of Leicester their first choice for the future.

Solution

On results day, we encouraged new students to Show Their True Colours with a t-shirt and tie-dye kit that was sent to them in the post to brighten up their day. They were able to have fun creating a shirt as individual as they are.

A QR code on a small welcome tag then led students to the University’s Welcome portal. Here, we created an authentic video featuring current students who welcomed new students to their learning community while expressing their own personalities. Due to social distancing, all of the video clips were created remotely.

Not only does the welcome portal have a very bright design, the copy has bags of personality to help students feel safe, welcome and part of their vibrant and supportive community. It captures the excitement of the day and gives them a real flavour of what they can learn and discover, as they explore the different information they need to know from registering to packing all of the student essentials.
